For your blurfing pleasure...

No, blurfing is not an explicative, it is blog surfing, which is what I find myself doing most evenings after the kids go to bed.

It has been a busy week or two. We all went down to Grandma Wilson's house in Cincinnati for Easter. Rylee made a new friend in Ruby the dog (or Rubes as Sarah likes to call her)

Sarah did have a bad hair day once.

There was of course an Easter egg hunt with the cousins. Thanks to Grandma's generous allotment of eggs everybody needed bigger baskets.

I made Kenna a sandwich one day. It made her smile and that is a beautiful thing.

The kids all got new Easter clothes to wear under their coats. I don't have a picture of Rylee but she was equally beautiful. You'll notice Sarah already had chocolate on her dress from the aforementioned egg hunt.

Grandma Wilson gave Tanner a Calvin and Hobbes book which he has had a lot of fun reading.

But easily the best thing about the last week has been watching Mary smile.

It's simply a matter of perspective...

The other day Ella asks me "Dad, does the earth still spin at night when we're sleeping?" I said that it did. Then, as if things where now perfectly clear said "that's why we're dizzy in the morning."

Yesterday Tanner had just opened a small bag of M&M's for a snack but dropped three or four while he was walking around. After the last one fell on the floor he exclaimed "There's just too much gravity!

Sarah hasn't said anything cute, she just walks around looking cute.

You may recognize the puppy as one of Kenna's birthday gifts.

Don't you hate it when...

...the low fuel light is on in your car and this is what you see at the gas station? FIFTY dollars later I have 3/4 of a tank of gas. Too bad my 5 kids won't fit in a Prius!

Happy Birthday Kenna!...a day late

Yesterday was Kenna's birthday. I came home from work after some last minute shopping and found that someone had already taken care of all her presents. I thought maybe friends from church had dropped off all those presents.




I thought that was really nice until Kenna told me they were all from Ella. I wanted to know where she got all the money until I took a closer look...



Those would be some of Ella's toys, pencils, happy meal toys, etc. Simply put, Ella is a very sweet little girl.

Since Kenna can't have milk because we think Mary might have a milk allergy a birthday cake was not an option so a birthday pie had to do (without ice cream of course).



Sarah and Ella both seemed to have enjoyed my chocolatey birthday cake

Rylee, Tanner, Ella, Sarah and Mary have been so excited to celebrate their daddy's birthday today. Happy 23rd to the best dad ever!

The Sixth Day of The Third Moon

The sixth of March is dear to me,
A party thrown by family.
There’s candles glowing on the cake,
We limbo with the garden rake.

We sing and dance and celebrate,
‘Cause on this day came something great.
An angel’s chorus filled the skies,
It’s memory brings tears to eyes.

Though I was but a tiny lad,
I recall the face of my proud Dad.
All dressed in white and disinfected,
His favorite son had been perfected.

Todd, my brother, just turned eight.
Gentleman, scholar, all around great.
By me looked up to, idolized,
On March the sixth, he got baptized.

So, on this date we all make merry,
To honor this great annivers-arry.
And in attempt to bump my worth,
I claim this date for my birth.


It seems as if Todd had lots of time on his hands at work when he wrote this poem for me. And though it lacked any reference to ear hair and was somewhat verbose I appreciate the effort.
