Brown paper packages tied up with strings...

These are a few of my favorite things:

Lunch: PB&J (crunchy and strawberry, respectively) on fresh store-bought bread. It may taste better on Kenna's fresh made honey whole wheat bread but there's an intangible sense of nostalgia with the store bought bread. I think it is because my mom baked a lot of bread growing up and I didn't like it as much so it was really something special on the fluffy white stuff. Plus, because it dissolves almost instantly in your mouth you're left with the pure taste of peanut butter and jelly without the bread to muddle things up.

Sarah quote: This happened just tonight in response to Ella showing off her new-found ability to whistle. Sarah tried in vain to whistle and then shrugged her shoulders and said,"Well, I can still burp!"

Knock-knock joke solicitor: Smell mop. Makes me laugh every time. Much like the three moles who smelled honey...oh, never mind, that one is a little more sophisticated.

Sports moment: Yesterday Tanner scored his first basket from the field (last week he made a free throw) in the last game of the season. As one of the shorter and less skilled players on his team this was something the coach and team had been working on all season. Everybody cheered and he couldn't stop grinning the rest of the game. He had come a long way because he cried the first two practices because the ball kept hitting him in the chest when someone would pass it to him and he said it hurt and he didn't want to go back.

Children's song: Crazy ABC's from the album Snacktime by the Barenaked Ladies.
A is for Aisle
B is for Bdellium
C is for Czar, etc
It is very funny and has a nice reference to ZZtop at the end.

Patient's reason for asking the doctor to speed things up: "Hey doc, how much longer is it going to be? My girlfriend drove me here and she has to get back before her husband gets home."

I didn't know Barenaked Ladies had a kid's album. I must go and find it immediately. At least you got Tanner to agree to play basketball, Dillon refused. He told me he wants a quiet sport where there isn't much running. Ugh. Golf? So, when can we come down and see you?
